PLYMOUTH CHURCH 1847 - 2022, 175 YEARS OF MAKING HISTORY.

To celebrate Plymouth Church’s 175 Anniversary (the Dodransbicentennial year) the History Ministry of the church will explore many of the untold stories showing how Plymouth Church, its ministers, and members have been making history throughout its first 175 years.

Essays and events are also being planned for the months of June through December, 2022, including an exhibit of Nast prints of Beecher; a joint choir concert with Grace Episcopal Church (also celebrating its 175th Anniversary); a movie night featuring Samuel Clemens’ (Mark Twain’s) Innocents Abroad; a road trip to Hartford, CT, to tour the Harriet Beecher Stowe and Samuel Clemens homes; the publication of a book on Plymouth’s Lamb Studio stained-glass windows; a re-creation of the reading by Charles Dickens of his book “Christmas Carol” at Plymouth in 1868; and much more. We will be announcing an expanded calendar of essays and events as the dates are finalized.

Please join us in celebrating Plymouth’s 175 years of making history.
